Therapy led by you, for you
Providing an empathic, sincere and warm space
Hey there, I'm James.
(he/him/they/them)
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working in a person-centred way. This means that no session is approached with a set agenda. The session shall be guided by what you would like to discuss. My role is to walk alongside you as a gentle guide, providing a supportive space for you to explore your emotions.
I gained my Masters at Keele University. A lot of my previous work has focused on LGBTQ+, gender and disability issues. When I am not working with clients you can find me playing board games, reading and spending time with family.
But this isn't about me, it's about you...
Services available
Initial Chat
Face to Face Counselling*
Phone and Video Counselling
I offer a 15 minute initial phone or video appointment for you to see whether you would like to book further sessions.
In this initial appointment we can go over what you are looking for from therapy and it is also a chance for you to gauge whether you would feel comfortable working with me.
If after the initial chat you feel you would like to work with me, we can book in your first session. Each session lasts officially 50 minutes, with a 10 minute buffer period.
I am based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, within easy access of public transport, for face-to-face counselling.
If after the initial chat you feel you would like to work with me; however you would either be more comfortable at home or you have issue's travelling, we can arrange a suitable alternate.
I offer video counselling throughout the week on MS Teams, you do not need an account, and on Tuesdays I offer Telephone sessions only.
*Unfortunately my office is not wheelchair accessible, there is a lift however there is a flight of stairs before
